SEED SWAP
SEED SWAP EVENT
November 1, 2025
11 to 2PM
Shepard Garden & Arts Center 3330 McKinley Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95816
Our California native plant seed swap will be held again in November at the Shepard Garden and Arts Center. Collect your seeds now and swap them with our community later. November is also good time for hardwood cuttings for many species. Cuttings will also be welcome. Sacramento Valley CNPS chapter members will be available to answer questions about seed harvest and propagation. Seed envelopes will be provided but feel free to bring your own containers. If you have seeds to share please bring them but if you don’t there will be plenty of seed for everyone. See labeling instructions below. Should be a fun event. Propagation resources are listed at the bottom of page including our nursery’s protocols.
Labels should include: Common name, Scientific name, date collected, source/provenance
Example:
California poppy
Eschscholzia californica
Collected 5/15/2025
Source- SacValley CNPS Nursery, Sacramento County
Propagation info and images would be an added bonus!
Cuttings: Cuttings will ideally be collected the morning of the swap ,kept cool, moist, and labeled.
Seeds are for and from home gardens. Please leave wild places wild.
