Penstemon centranthifolius

• Perennial herb with many erect, hairless branches up to 3 feet in height
• Opposite, thick, untoothed leaves up to 4 inches long
• Inflorescence on the top of the stem consists of inch-long narrow tubular flowers
• Flowers bright red to orange
• Attracts bees and butterflies
• Tolerates clay soils, PH 6.0 – 8.0
• Low water needs
• Summer deciduous
