Snipes-Pershing Ravine Trail, Folsom State Recreation Area

Friday, April 3rd, 9:30am-12pm

About the outing: This is another ‘hotspot’ of diversity and photo opportunities! The walk will start at Norma Hamlin Park, drop down Snipes Ravine, cross a wooden bridge, climb up to the top of the bluff on the north side of Lake Natoma  to see the new eagle nesting site. Depending on time and group movement we may drop down to the bike trail and hike a short distance before returning on the same path. This walk features more of a climb than walks on the American River Parkway.
Leader: Robin Rietz, email robinrietz@yahoo.com for more information
What to bring: Bring extra water, layered clothing, sturdy shoes, sun protection, snacks and maybe binoculars. In some of our walks there is a risk of exposure to poison oak-be- on the lookout!
Amenities on-site: The park has no rest facilities.
Waiver: sign upon arrival

*We try to start walking promptly at start time.

Meet up location: meet near the teardrop on this or use MAP the directions below.
