DESCRIPTION:Friday, February 27, 9:30-12:00pm\nJoin Robin on a Friday walk through Sailor Bar Park along the American River Parkway.\nMeetup at the parking lot by Turtle pond. Take the first right after the kiosk.\nLeader: Email Robin Rietz for information robinrietz@yahoo.com.\nWhat to bring: water, hat, snack, and warm or cold weather protection. Sturdy shoes are recommended and a walking stick might be helpful in one short area.  Binoculars will be useful for bird sightings.\nWaiver: sign upon arrival\n***We try to start walking promptly at start time.\nParking is $7 or use an Annual Parks Passport.  Look for the new $35 Senior Annual Pass if you are 65 or over.\nMeet at the Sailor Bar pond parking area, google map link.\nDirections to Sailor Bar from downtown:\n– Travel east on Highway 50 to Exit #21\n– North on Hazel Avenue\n– After crossing the bridge, turn left on Winding Way (second light after the bridge).\n– Turn left at Illinois Ave and drive into the parkway.\n– Even if the Entrance Kiosk is unmanned, be sure to self-register your vehicle or use your Parks Annual Pass.\n– Turn right into the parking are at the bottom of the hill about 150 yards past the kiosk.\nThere are no rest facilities at the meeting area. There are rest facilities which we will pass near the boat launch area about 1/4 of the way through the walk.\nPlease try to be on time. We’ll start walking by 9:30am.\nThe $70 Parks Passport supports your County Parks system.  More information is on-line.  There is also a new $35 Senior Citizen Vehicle Pass for those 65 and older.  The Senior Citizen Pass must be purchased in person and only at select locations.\n
